The W. H. Sammis Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant at Stratton, Ohio, USA. The plant, operated by FirstEnergy, was the subject of a Clean Air Act case by the Environmental Protection Agency filed in 1999.[1] Block 7 includes one of the tallest chimneys in the world (305 meters), which was built in 1970. The power plant includes a tunnel for State Route 7, a four-lane freeway.

The first four units were finished between 1959 and 1962. Additional units were completed in 1967, 1969, and 1971.[2]
