These articles provide some perspective on W.W. Behrens' transforming his Art of War (Zero Sum Game) military academy training.

During 1970, he became a highly effective engineer-scientist and leader at NOAA
who championed an alternative (All-WinWin) Art of Peace using social networking ...

As an adventuresome bioneering naval engineer-futurist, and innovator,
W.W. Behrens adapted actionable insights from classified (unpublished) military "after action reports" (lessons re-learned).

This observation is derived from an Ends-Means Analysis
of his collaborative leadership style plus documented results he inspired through his global peer mentoring network.

The lesson learned was that, as New Dealer Harry Dexter White, the principal architect of the Bretton Woods system, put it:

"the absence of a high degree of economic collaboration among the leading nations will... inevitably result in economic warfare that will be but the prelude and instigator of military warfare on an even vaster scale."

1911 Ernest Rutherford theorized that atoms must be mainly empty space with a small nucleus in the center.

He overturned the idea that that the atom is solid. This led to the theory that the energy stored in the nucleus of an atom could be released.
(NG, May 1985, J. Boslough, p. 642,653)(SFEC, 12/19/99, Par p.14)

Mentor & Role Model: Ernest Rutherford is quoted as saying: "In science there is only physics; all the rest is stamp collecting."
