W24BW, known unofficially as WYCS, is a local independent station in Louisville, Kentucky. Owned by Greater Louisville Communications and operated by Cascade Broadcasting (which owns WBKI-TV in Louisville), its transmitter is located near Floyds Knobs, Indiana at 38° 21' 55.00 " N Latitude, 85° 50' 24.00" W Longitude.
The station is a Class-A operation, even though the station's official calls are still translator-style calls.
In 2007, Cascade Broadcasting began to operate W24BW out of the studios of WBKI. They also have an option to buy the station. Cascade is trying to rebrand the channel as the Louisville Network, or LouNET, and is airing locally produced shows, geared primarily towards the African American and Hispanic community.[1]
W24BW was formerly an America One affiliate and aired community and regional programming and sporting events.
Music video programming from the Canadian music video network MuchMusic (now known as Fuse TV) was also a staple on this station until 2003 when MuchMusic's U.S. counterpart known as MuchUSA was bought by Rainbow Media Holdings, Fuse TV's co-owner.
