Talk:W0KIE

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I gave Rob's embryonic article a bit of an overhaul. It has a nicer polish to it, now; and i got rid of the "ad-copy" and other frivolities. I started to expand the programming list, then decided to comment it out; i'm not certain if it's appropriate, and it can be found in at least two of the linked places. A history section might be good. Just remember, that Wikipedia is not a billboard service. Nor is it a playground. (We have W0KIEpedia for that.)  :)

[edit] accidental vandalism

Thanks to Vegaswikian for fixing the (apparently accidental) vandalism that occured on 25 December. It is not entirely clear who was responsible, but considering whose house they appear to have been at (that of one of the show hosts) it is unlikely that they are someone hostile to the W0KIE network.

Upon further investigation, it appears that the person responsible (not the show host) does have a difference of opinion with some of the network content, and has chosen (again) to express this in a very childish manner. :(

[edit] More history

I'm guessing (from reverse DNS) that it was da W0KIE-man himself, who added a bunch of detail (uplink sites, and missing points on the curve) to the history section. ggg Mike!

Forgot, though the point (C3?) at which we lost the internet access that allowed us to have the RealAudio link. (I'll try to remember to find that out; but i know myself better than to assume that i will.) —StationaryTraveller 15:03, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

The cable and dsl at the uplink on C3 was not available so W0KIE downgraded to POTS audio feeding via a Gentner frequency extender. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.177.68.229 (talk) 09:19, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
