Vurnarsky District

Vurnarsky District (Russian: Вурнарский райо́н; Chuvash: Вăрнар районĕ) is a district (raion) of the Chuvash Republic, Russia. The district's administrative center, the urban-type settlement of Vurnary, is located 91 kilometers (57 mi) from Chuvashia's capital city of Cheboksary. District's population: 41,417 (2002 Census); 44,864 (1989 Census).

The district was formed on September 5, 1944. It is situated in the north-western part of Chuvashia, bordering Alikovsky and Krasnoarmeysky Districts in the north, Kanashsky District in the east, Ibresinsky District in the south, and Shumerlinsky District in the west.

The Head of the District Administration is Anatoly Ivanovich Kozmin.
