Talk:Vuoksela

I disagree with the removal of Category:Rural localities in Leningrad Oblast from this article. Former localities should be included as well, like former cities are included in the Category:Cities (via Category:Former cities) or ghost towns are included in Category:Towns.

In addition, this particular locality seems to exist now under the name of Romashki [1]. Conscious 18:20, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Romashki is very far from Vuoksela, on the other shore of Vuoksi.Colchicum 18:22, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Your source looks very strange. Neither Vuoksela nor Romashki is a town, and nothing happened with them in 1930.Colchicum 18:24, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
And Vuoksela certainly cannot be a rural locality in Leningrad Oblast. It was a rural locality in the Viipuri province. Colchicum 18:50, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Romashki/Vuoksela history put aside, I just wanted to add that there is nothing preventing us from creating "Category:Former rural localities in XXX" for each federal subject; along the lines of Category:Defunct towns in Russia, for cases when such former rural localities need to be categorized. "Category:Rural localities in XXX" is reserved to show the existing state of the matters; not historical trends. There is really no need to bundle everything under one umbrella when existing and former localities can be easily sorted out into distinct categories using clear criteria.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 19:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
