[edit] License tagging for Image:Parham Nassehpoor Persian Tar 01.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Parham Nassehpoor Persian Tar 01.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

- I have restored this image as requested on my talk page. Note that it was deleted because it matched I4 of the Criteria for Speedy Deletion. Namely the fact that it had the {{untagged}} template added to it for seven days (not fourteen, as you specified).
- You can copy over the relevant copyright information from the German WP to the image yourself. As far as I know, it doesn't require anything special. The better option would be to upload it to commons:, where it will be accessible to all wikipedias.
- Note that if a copyright tag isn't added to the image within the next seven days, it will most likely be deleted again. --TheParanoidOne 20:36, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi TheParanoidOne, thanks for replying. Because I am new in Wikipedia and no native English speaker it is really difficult for me to understand all the technical and legal vocubulary. It is even hard for me in my own language. I copied the licence to the foto at the English site. Is it correct now and how do I restore the image in the related article? What does WP mean? --VulpesE 14:38, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- The licensing information seems fine to me. To restore the image to the article, just add it like you did originally. Again, nothing special needed. Finally, WP is short for Wikipedia. --TheParanoidOne 20:15, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hi
Hi VulpesE, in Wikipedia things that are surrounded by curly brackets ({{ }}) are called Templates. Templates allow one piece of Wikipedia syntax to be used in multiple places. For example the {{fact}} tag allows one to make a request for a citation in a nice format without writing out the code to do one oneself (which is difficult). In the same manner {{PerB}} is a template that when surrounding some Persian text, makes it bold and automatically links to the Persian language article. If you look at the Pooyan Nassehpoor, you'll see that the link to Persian language still exists even though it's not in the source, and that's because it's in the {{PerB}} template. I hope that helps, and welcome to Wikipedia. If you need any other help, please do ask. :) -- Jeff3000 03:42, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
