VP MARKET is a private Lithuanian company, the operator of the largest retail trade network for the foodstuffs and manufactured goods in the Baltic States. The company was originally called "Vilniaus prekyba" -- the letters VP stand for, literally, Vilnius' Trade. The second largest company in sales and services in Lithuania, VP Market owns trade networks in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania and Bulgaria, consisting of the trade centers MAXIMA, MAXIMA X, MAXIMA XX, MAXIMA XXX, T-MARKET, BAZĖ, ALBINUTA. As of October 31, 2006, the company owns 198 trade centers in Lithuania, 105 trade centers in Latvia, 31 trade centers in Estonia, 9 trade centers in Romania and 13 trade centers in Bulgaria; almost 600,000 buyers come to the company’s trade centers every day.
