I hate to add to your pain, but have you noticed that every article Pumpie created which has an umlaut (or other such accented symbol) in the name has a broken interwiki link, thanks to the German Wiki using unicode for article titles, and the English one not doing so? I noticed that you tagged the page Image:Wynyard-train-station-(sydn.jpg for speedy deletion with the reason "replaced by image on commons with different filename, not used here anymore". However, "replaced by image on commons with different filename, not used here anymore" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. Instead of just changing the tag you should consider deleting images at Category:Images on Wikimedia Commons. There are only 7425 of these left. This was the reason I used the {{db}} tag, because nothing ever seems to get done and the category just keeps getting bigger. Someone really should take care of this. The best solution is to list them on WP:IFD with reason OR/OB (orphaned and obsolete). Please read Wikipedia talk:Moving images to the Commons for more on why they can't be speedied. Stifle 15:01, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello Voyager. I noticed you changed the word 'collimation' to 'collimator' in the article Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex. From my limited knowledge 'collimation' is the correct expression. See the paragraph about the collimation tower on the Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station site. I've been to the Honeysuckle tower site a couple of times. The tower was still there in the early nineties but has since been dismantled. - Gimboid13 21:17, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Read it again. You're not nominating the right article or the right section. History of Vancouver is the article that your complaints are about, not Vancouver. I don't see anything preventing a peer review of Vancouver. As for the expansion, I still don't know what's missing, and without something more specific, it does sound like you believe it should be bumped up to 78 kb 'just because.' I don't understand your criticism, so can't address it. Adding a ramble like I do on talk pages would hardly be an improvement. When exactly does this history end and current events begin anyway? Well, let me try to explain as simple as possible. We have a detailed history until the 1930s. Almost the whole rest of the article is a very well-done description of the city as it is today. In between there is a huge time gap spanning 70 years or so, except for very few events which are briefly mentioned and "hidden" in other sections. What I sorely miss is: How did the city actually develop and get this far? How was the city affected by the "outside world" (World War II, Canadian federal politics etc). My personal definition of current events is: Anything that's older than two or three years is history. Take a look at the Canberra article (the history section ends in 2003), then you might see what I'm aiming at. All that needs to be done is adding a few sentences (preferably by a Vancouverite). You're describing your preference of how the article should be structured. Looking at Canberra's article, most of that extra history is politics, and the same logic could be used to complain that Canberra's politics are hidden in the history section, and in my perspective, its politics section currently is static. It reads like all the developing happened in the past, and now that every conflict has been resolved, this snapshot is the result, and presumably the end of history. That's not to say it's not well-written or presents the wrong information, but it's not my preference. "History" as a thing itself doesn't exist; read a history book and you're reading about politics, culture, economics, an event, or whatever, you're not reading about "history." Historians just don't work that way; even if their narrative moves along chronologically, it's rare to find a history book published in the last 30 years that gives equal weight to different decades or is organized like a calender. You may only be asking for a few sentences, but only inasmuch as those sentences change the structure that's already there. You're speaking like this is an obvious shortcoming of the article, that it deviates from some tried and true convention, but from what I can tell, it's not a convention embraced by historians. This is how I understand your comments, and think that content is a separate issue, which certainly could be revisited. Bobanny 18:41, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1993

This shows the 15km Jagdrennen. When I first looked at the FIS results initally, I thought the results were Dæhlie and Smirnov were tied, but the information that the user I had mentioned earlier was accurate and thus the results were changed for the 10 km + 15 km combined pursuit. There was a similar issue with Välbe and Belmondo in the 5 km + 10 km combined pursuit at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1997, but that was also resolved as well. I hope this helps.   • He has a book of the official records of the 1997 event Trondheim ((Norwegian)) that lists all of the championships from Johnannisbad in 1925 to the 1995 championships in Thunder Bay.
