[edit] The Chair of Indefinite Studies
It seems ridiculous that fan sub-cruft like this has to go through a seven-day deletion process. Perhaps it can be speedied. --BM 18:58, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- How many Discworld books does he appear in? If it's just one or two, delete. Otherwise, weak keep. P Ingerson 20:27, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- At least 6 books I think, but he is in most of the books a background charatcter as the article itself says so that the rest of the faculty have someone to talk to (but he could have a major role in The Last Continent which I haven't read yet). Keep or merge somewhere. Maybe we should go through the Discworld characters and see if all of them should really be there. I myself created Offler when I was new here (not terribly long ago). - Weak Merge with Unseen University. Kappa 23:49, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect to Unseen University, Discworld characters, or other suitable title. Rje 01:28, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- Delete. Fancruft. Should be listed in the Discworld characters article, but not separately. Average Earthman 17:32, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Fancruft. Will this idiocy ever stop? Delete. Kosebamse 19:15, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Factual. Will this idiocy ever stop? Mark Richards 21:44, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- All policy discussion aside, it's a pretty crappy article. Merge with the Unseen University. Archchancellor Ridcully may enjoy it. hfool 22:31, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect to Unseen University - David Gerard 23:08, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Keep content. Not bothered about merging or not, but keep as redirect at least. Intrigue 00:26, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Yawn. Please stop listing lines for deletion outside of the bounds of policy; it is highly unhelpful, and detracts from the once-useful nature of this process. James F. (talk) 02:18, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. I like the books, but it's a piece of trivia from a fictional universe. I can't imagine it ever being referenced in another context. Isomorphic 10:30, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect: He appears in almost every book that has the wizards. However, he is already covered in Ponder Stibbons. I enjoy the books a great deal and am almost finished reading all of them. Note, however, that this one figure gets massive coverage, since he's also discussed in Hex (Discworld) and probably at Ridcully Mustrum. How many ways do we need to package the information? - As part of the new Discworld WikiProject I am reformatting all the Discworld articles. I plan to delete this one after merging it into the appropriate article (probably Unseen University) – it's not going to be typed in and a redirect, I think, is inappropriate. violet/riga (t) 22:14, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)
