[edit] Spanglish spelling

Appears to be non-notable. All but two of the google hits I could find are wikipedia clones or are unrelated uses of the same phrase, and the couple of searches I ran for academic journal articles turned up zilch. The article lacks any background or citations as to who is supposedly proposing this reform, casting further doubt. RadicalSubversiv E 22:59, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Original proposal for non-notable spelling reform. Gwalla | Talk 23:24, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. As an aside, I find it immensely amusing that almost none of the vowels in the example sentence actually exist in Spanish anyway. --Aponar Kestrel (talk) 02:03, 2004 Sep 26 (UTC)
  • Delete. Bad title -- Perhaps Spanish-English Transliteration or something like that would be better? Original research too, unless can be shown otherwise. --Improv 19:43, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Comment. I have heard of this before. It is a scheme invented by Steve Bett, who runs this website. From what I gather, it is one of the more well-known schemes in the online spelling reform community, but I would see how someone may call it non-notable as it really hasn't left that not-very-large community. That and a listserv e-mail were the only relevant Google hits I found. Is there a community beyond that? (Genuinelly curious.) RadicalSubversiv E 04:43, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC)
