Pointless fancruft should be deleted. Edward 12:26, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Non-encyclopedic. Maybe redirect or merge of salvagable info. [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 12:32, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep - there are loads of random 1-line pages, its about time someone grouped them all under 1 page. You're being to harsh.

Keep - hardly fancruft, the guy who wrote it even said he was trying to keep you lot happy! 212.219.191.134 12:50, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep, but maybe change the title. Would you prefer to have as it is now where the sapce marine chapters each have an own page? Jeltz 15:20, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep - I agree with Jeltz, better this one page than lots of them! Seriously though, I cant see any reason to delete this - its not offensive, self-promotional, etc. Dracula the bat 15:26, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: The choice isn't one page of unrelated pages or a horde of unrelated pages. The choice is whether the Warhammer stuff should have its exploits and modules covered in more than one article (or even the one) at all. In my opinion, it shouldn't. Geogre 16:53, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • My oppinion is that this is related stuff, but that it doesn't deserve a lot of stubs and dictdefs everywhere. Maybe all should be a part of the Space Marines (Warhammer 40,000) page. Jeltz 18:18, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Damn, that's a lot of chapters. I'm a little less confident now but if few enough are important then you could just mention details about the most important ones. Jeltz 18:21, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Sticking with Keep on this one. Hard drive space is cheap, wikipedia is not paper, there is no reason to force-merge this. siroχo 18:38, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Rename it to make it obvious that it's Warhammer related. Just looking at the topic title makes me think that it's a list of the thousands of space marine corps that have appeared in various scifi universes. Which now that I think about it, is a list that I'd really like to see. The implied keep vote is because Warhammer is popular enough to deserve it's own wikispace like Star Trek or Tolkien. - Lifefeed 21:02, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep and possibly rename. There will be a ton of those posted, and the Space Marines from Warhammer are pretty notable, this way we keep some info on them and stop people from making a article on each of the Chapters mentioned with a single sentence in a magazine or book. This way we keep it under a single article and can keep it ordered better --Asmodai 22:29, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)

Thank you Asmodai! That was what I was intending to do - keep Wikipedia slightly well ordered in the Warhammer department! This page was not created to allow every single badly-painted crazily-named chapter (i met someone with a chapter called "The Yellow Blobs" once) to be thrown on, but rather (as the title suggests) the miscellaneous chapters created by Games Workshop, but not mentioned in enough detail to warrant a whole page to themselves.

  • Delete, do not merge. This information, regardless of how it is presented, is too trivial for Wikipedia. I'm sure it's adequately covered in the body of Warhammer literature and on many a fan-built web site, which is just where people should go to look for it. Triskaideka 00:26, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge and redirect to Space Marines (Warhammer 40,000). Gwalla | Talk 04:06, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge and redirect all Space Marines articles into the main Space Marines (Warhammer 40,000) article. -Sean Curtin 04:44, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC) - or into Chaos Space Marines, where relevant. -Sean Curtin 05:03, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete - there is unlimited amount of WH Space Marine chapters, since every player can make their own in addition to official GW ones -Skysmith 09:31, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, allow merge with Space Marines (Warhammer 40,000) if someone wishes to. zoney talk 12:59, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • keep. Should prevent individual pages for each chapter. Merging with W40K would seemingly break a heirarchy of articles. zoney talk 10:38, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Fancruft. --Improv 05:33, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep - I cant see what's wrong with merging 3 or 4 pages into one page. Wikipedia isn't limited in space, and I've seen worse pages being kept rather than deleted. Why doesn't Warhammer deserve a page with a few links, just as Tolkien/Star Wars/even pokemon *shudders*. Dr Chicken
  • Keep. Mark Richards 20:36, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete WH fancruft I thought they got the last of a few weeks ago. --ExplorerCDT 03:12, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • keep. The Recycling Troll 03:34, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Heresiarchs are the guardians of humanity. Originally there were 20 factions but fully half of them turned orthodox again during the iconoclastic controversy, wimping out on their own Hermanos Heréticos. Delete. Wile E. Heresiarch 05:20, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Throw all this stuff in with the existing Space Marines article. And the other breakout articles too. If the article is too big then you're going into too much detail about everything. Hell, there isn't this much detail on the real marines. And what the hell is a space marine anyway? Isn't the root of "marine" the Latin "mare", meaning ocean? Do we have oceans in space now? Whatever.-R. fiend 06:16, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • If you read the article, you would know that a Space Marine is a fictional character in the fantasy world of Warhammer. Anyway, my vote goes with keep. M99
    • You mean "space marines" aren't real???? I'm floored. I guess I'll have to change my vote to keep then. Wait a minute. No I won't. -R. fiend 15:53, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • ok, enough sarcasm, I was just saying that you should at least read the page before you start screaming, "DELETE!" at everyone and everything. M99
  • Delete. yet more pointless, banal fancruft. there should be one page for "Warhammer", and nothing more. this is an encyclopedia. --Bucephalus 16:14, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge Indeed, there should be one and only one page for this kind of show. --SnowRaptor 16:47, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
