Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Maidix

  • Speedy deletion. No such slang but the name of the company, which magaged to make 30 links into 1,500 google hits. Mikkalai 04:43, 8 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete - no google hits, no jargon file entry, not even a comment on slashdot. -- Cyrius|&#9998 05:07, Apr 8, 2004 (UTC)
  • I've heard the slang before, but only in Pittsburgh. Maybe it's developed because of the company??
    • You wrote the article, 24.3.208.29, you should know. Postdlf 15:56 8 Apr 2004 (UTC)
      • I'm not sure I get your point... it seems like there's a lot of cynicism here, which is a bit disappointing... it's not really worth the time to argue on-line over whether some regional or highly-specific reference is worth documenting in the "Encyclopedia Internet." Just some food for thought, though--if someone makes a bona fide entry and sends it to his friends (b/c hey, it's cool), and the entry gets marked for deletion because a few people haven't heard the term, it's probably not a conspiracy if at least one of those friends chimes in. And considering how incredibly easy it is to do anonymously, it probably would be anonymous. Hm... I'm starting to argue on-line... I deleted my Usenet reader for that reason!
  • I've seen this word pop up in graffiti on bridges and walls and mailboxes throughout Pittsburgh.
    • Funny that voting here anyonymously would be someone's first contribution to wikipedia ever (User:64.240.92.2), mere minutes after the previous vote to keep. Funny. Postdlf 15:56 8 Apr 2004 (UTC)
      • And why would someone go to the trouble of tagging that on a mailbox anyway? Rhymeless 00:36 9 Apr 2004 (UTC)
