[edit] Deadline (band)
Non-notable band. "Deadline" seems to be a pretty common name for punk bands; there's one in the UK, one in NZ (maybe?), and was one in the US for a brief period in the early 80s. deadline "ethan taylor" gets us a few articles about this Deadline; they probably put on good shows, but they seem far from notable - no contract, no releases that I can discern. - Keep-they have released two albums, "See You At the End" (2001) and "Mission Statement" (2003). What makes a band "notable"?
- So they're signed to which label? They've sold a significant number of albums? They got where in the charts? Unless you can answer these questions, they're not notable. [[User:David Johnson|David Johnson [T|C]]] 21:14, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- You forgot to add "in my view", David. Keep this band. Dr Zen 01:00, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete unless someone can demonstrate that they are notable. [[User:David Johnson|David Johnson [T|C]]] 21:14, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. The UK punk band appears to be highly notable. Not much mention of this USA band by the same name, though. That should be clarified. Just use google! [1] [[User:GRider|GRider\talk]] 21:18, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. If there's another band called deadline that deserves the page, change the article and write about it. You can keep it then. This particular deadline doesn't deserve an article though. Shane King 23:50, Dec 15, 2004 (UTC)
- Delete if it's still an article about an American band and doesn't establish notability for the British band by the end of VfD. Geogre 05:09, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Abstaining for the time being. Will watch to see how this develops. —[[User:Radman1|RaD Man (talk)]] 09:52, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete for now. Wyss 11:15, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Keep--for now. Theoretical question: If a previously-unknown tribe were to be discovered in South America, would they be worthy of an entry? Even if no one had ever heard of them (or bought their album?) What about their local deity? Would They be worthy of an entry? If so, why? If no one outside of the tribal community had ever heard of this deity, would they be notable? In Warrensburg, the community that Deadline is from, they are very well known and "notable". Just an interesting thought. EricLong 13:51, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)EricLong
- Delete, this article is no useful basis for the article about the english band of the same name, if they should be notable. --fvw* 19:27, 2004 Dec 16 (UTC)
