Infomercial product. Wyllium 06:33, 2004 Nov 13 (UTC)

The fact that something is an informercial product should have no relationship to a listing on this page and is irrelevant. GRider 19:17, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I beg to differ. I fail to see how anything of an infomercial can be encyclopedic in nature. Wyllium 19:39, 2004 Nov 13 (UTC)
  • keep. the article doesn't seem to be promotional. clara 06:35, Nov 13, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. I can't find the policy that says that we cannot have articles on infomercial products.Dr Zen 06:40, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • I don't think there is, but the mere fact that something exists doesn't warrant an article in the encyclopedia. It needs to be notable or famous, and it doesn't seem to be. Wyllium 07:08, 2004 Nov 13 (UTC)
      • it's certainly one of the better-known and longer-lived infomercial products. i'm ashamed to say i know at least two people who own one. :) clara 07:09, Nov 13, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Pretty harmless article. May not be historically notable, but it's a product recognized by millions. That, to me, is notable in some sense of the word. -- Matty j 08:12, Nov 13, 2004 (UTC)
  • keep, does not correpsond to any reason for deletion. siroχo 09:05, Nov 13, 2004 (UTC)
  • Have to agree - this article isn't especially commercial in nature. Keep. ClockworkTroll 09:07, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep: There are probably two products from that timeframe (late 80's and early 90's), Bowflex and Solaflex, that have survived the bubble. These two can be discussed in their demonstration of the Ron Popeil model being used by larger companies, as well as the use of the infomercial as a type of pornography (the Solaflex ads, apparently, being very popular in gay bars, according to a radio report I heard). It could be expanded somewhat and is not advertising. Geogre 15:43, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Notable. GRider 19:17, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Could be expanded. Jayjg 12:05, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • KEEP. Notable enough to have an article about it. Also, it could be expanded.--AAAAA 13:00, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. If this is deleted so should the George Foreman Grill. 24.222.142.190 18:57, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. The concept of deleting articles simply because they appeared on infomercials is patently absurd. This product is sufficiently notable. ElBenevolente 11:21, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. News headlines today, believe it or not, include Nautilus Shares Sink on Bowflex Recall and 800000 Bowflex machines recalled. There was a recall of about half that earlier this year. Article shouldn't be recalled. Samaritan 21:14, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Although we those of us without one consider it an inane little machine, it has generated A: considerable attention in pop culture (any American can tell you what one is) and B: has a story beyond that it is an exercise machine without weights--Homo universalis 16.11.2004.
  • Keep, especially considering the recent recall against it, which makes the subject much more researchworthy. - Scooter 02:35, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • KEEP, it's a notable product that's in the news. james_anatidae 08:24, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
