I can now see some merit for keeping this article, perhaps as a redirect, if so then probably to mathematics education as Uncle G suggests below (redirecting to elementary algebra is also a possibility and might be better than algebra).     • Why not? If this were just one person's way of structuring the teaching of algebra, I would agree. But it isn't. This is the name of a set of education standards used by governments, such as the California State Board of Education. algebra is not the best target for the redirect, since that's mainly about algebra itself, rather than about the teaching of algebra. mathematics education would be better.   • Every country has different course standards. No doubt this is country specific without giving context. Since people typing such a thing aren't looking for Algebra a redirect to mathematics education seems best. Mgm|(talk) 07:02, May 30, 2005 (UTC)
  • Redirect to Algebra, tho it might need a new section on "Algebra in education" detailing popular divisions between levels. Nateji77 09:44, 30 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Keep or merge into mathematical education. If this is a course taken by many hundreds of thousands of students and outlined in official curricula I'm sure a decent article could be created. - SimonP 21:24, May 30, 2005 (UTC)

    • I thought Algebra I was the first algebra course undergraduates take, rather than a high school course (or mabye Calculus I was the first undergrad course in calculus). I am not sure. Oleg Alexandrov 20:01, 30 May 2005 (UTC)
