<<THIS PAGE NEEDS A LOT OF WORK. MUCH OF THE INFORMATION IS UNCITED UNTIL THE SOURCES GET RE-FOUND>>
- Sources needing re-finding
- The ACM/IEEE paper written by R.T. Gagnon in 1978 needs to be cited by number, since it can't be directly linked due to ACM/IEEE policies.
- The article which mentions the SVA as the first self-contained (complete, i.e. frontend+backend) speech synthesis unit. This is another ACM(/IEEE?) article.
- Other TODO stuff
- add standard votrax phoneme set (used from VS4 thru SC-01-A with the exception of the TRS-80 speech synth)
- add description of internal workings of frontend (NRL algorithm) and backend(hybrid digital/analog vocal tract model) (note: It might be better to dedicate an entirely new article to this subject alone, ans possibly also to the McIlroy algorithm, which was developed by Bell labs in the 1960s?, and the NIH modifications to it)
- fix 3rd party device list to include manufacturer name before product name and 'typeface' product names, this is especially important for the mockingboards where there were at LEAST three different versions made <- done, or close to it
The above was originally in the main article, but belongs here. No worries - you probably didn't know. The page is a good start. Moulder 21:01, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
