Volvox was an all-female Turkish hard rock band active between 1988 and 1994, formed by Şebnem Ferah (guitar and vocals), Duygu Karpuz (guitar), Ebru Bank (Eroğlu) (bass), Buket Doran (bass, replaced Ebru Bank), Gül Ağırca (drums), and Özlem Tekin (keyboard and backvocals). The band took its name from the biological microorganism Volvox.
After the break-up of the band in 1994, members Şebnem Ferah and Özlem Tekin launched successful solo careers in rock music, continuing up to this date.
