Volta Region is one of Ghana's ten administrative regions. Its capital is Ho. It contains the following 15 districts:

Further information: British Togoland and Togoland

The region is formed out of the former British Togoland which was part of the German protectorate of Togoland. It was administered as part of the Gold Coast by the British as Trans Volta Togoland. Before Ghana's independence, a plebiscite held in 1956 saw the territory decide to join Ghana at independence.

The main ethnic groups in the region are the Ewe people in the south and the Akan people in the north.
