The New Midsize Sedan codenamed NMS is a new Volkswagen sedan that will be the size of a Volkswagen Passat but the price of a Toyota Camry and targeted mainly for the Chinese and North American markets.
The car will be developed by Shanghai Volkswagen and Volkswagen and based on the seventh generation B-platform from the Volkswagen Group.
It will replace the Passat Lingyu in China and Passat in North American markets by 2010.
VW expects to sell 120,000 New Midsize Sedans a year.
