Volkswagen 827 engine

The EA827 family was introduced in 1974 for Audi and VW. It's a water cooled very robust engine configuration for 4- up to 8- cylinders and is still build this time. The “827” is also the base for diesel engines, which shares its 88 mm (3.5 in) cylinder spacing with the spark ignition engines.
