Volitan

The Volitan is the next generation fully sustainable boat. It is equipped with double layer solar cell panels. It uses both wind and solar energy. It has an incredibly light weight, stiff structure, it's shell is made of carbon fiber and epoxy resin and carbon foam[clarify] core lamination. It also has an ultraviolet resistant coating.

It is connected to a twin 220 HP/DC electric motor which has two suspended wings to help manoeuvre the ship. In addition, a hydraulic/servo system located in the wings activates the sleek Volitan's unique performance sail system. It's dimensions are around 105'3 in (length), 24'8 in (height), 92'7 in (width with solar body) and 24'9 in (width at low body).

This boat won the International Design award 2007 category 1. winner in best nautical /boat and best transportation vehicle of the year in IDA . She was designed by the Turkish designer Dr. Hakan Gürsu and assistant designer Sözüm Doğan (TR) both are the officials member of Designnobis Studio.
