Volfied

Volfied (also known as Ultimate Qix or Qix Neo on Playstation) is an arcade game released by Taito in 1989.
Essentially, this game is to Qix what Taito's Arkanoid is to Atari's Breakout (i.e., almost identical to the latter game, but with additional features), aside from the fact that Qix was also developed by Taito. The overall look and feel of the game has been switched from abstract geometry to futuristic science fiction. The player pilots a small spaceship instead of a simple dot and the enemies come in the form of various aliens.
The overall gameplay is the same as in Qix. However, the main enemy is no longer a group of lines - instead it varies between levels, also including smaller enemies. When the player's spaceship succeeds in claiming a section of the level, the side where the main enemy is always taken as "the outside". Any smaller enemies ending up on "the inside" are killed, resulting in point bonuses. Grey boxes also appear on the field, when claimed these give the player a random power-up.
A minor change to the Qix gameplay is that Volfied is set at the factory to require 80% of a level's area to be claimed in order to complete the level, instead of just 75% as in Qix or 70% in Super Qix.
A Java-based mobile phone version of the game was released in Europe by Taito in 2007.
