VOLTO!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

VOLTO! is a Burbank based progressive rock quartet featuring Kirk Covington, Lance Morrison, John Ziegler, and Danny Carey. All four are working musicians in the Los Angeles area.[1][2]

VOLTO!'s sound is difficult to classify because of its genre-bending nuances (Guitarist John Ziegler, of the band Pigmy Love Circus, cites influences such as Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis). VOLTO! draws heavily from the art rock crowd and has even been embraced by the jazz community (on August 19, 2007 they performed at prestigious Los Angeles jazz club La Ve Lee), as VOLTO!'s sound is steeped in jazz fusion.[3]

VOLTO!'s members backgrounds are just as eclectic and scattered as the sound of the band.

Drummer Danny Carey is the drummer for multiple Grammy award-winning progressive hard rock band Tool.

Bassist Lance Morrison has recorded on studio albums for Alanis Morissette, Don Henley, Rick Springfield and Jim Brickman. He has also been featured in movie soundtracks for Message in a Bottle, Never Been Kissed, and Armageddon.[4]

John Ziegler is most known for his membership in the successful Hollywood underground rock band Pigmy Love Circus, of which Danny Carey is also a member.

Kirk Covington is best known for his work with progressive jazz fusion band Tribal Tech.
