[edit] Player uninstalls Workstation

When I wanted to try player as a mean of distibuting a software, it uninstalled my finetuned wmvare workstation without asking. I cannot get it to work again. Host OS is Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. /hh —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.131.45.222 (talk • contribs) 09:06, 29 November 2007

This really only applies to earlier versions of Workstation, since at least v5.5 and newer include VMware Player as part of the standard installation. There's no need to install it separately, unless you have an older version, like v4.5 (I don't know if Player also came with v5.0). Did you read the release notes and the installation guide for Player before installing it? An issue like this should be mentioned somewhere in the documentation.
