[edit] History

On May 15, 2008, VMIX named Mike Glickenhaus President and Chief Executive Officer. Glickenhaus was recruited by VMIX Chairman of the Board and co-founder Greg Kostello, who will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer. As CEO, Glickenhaus brings 27 years of senior management experience in broadcasting and publishing.

On March 28, 2008 VMIX announced that it is replacing its VMIX.COM community site with a website that better represents the company's technology and service offerings. "This is nothing new for us," said CEO Greg Kostello. "VMIX is an established leader in providing media-management and community platforms. We build products that support over 200 media, publishing and broadcast websites. We're simply changing our own website to reflect that focus."[1]

Later this year, the company plans to launch VMIX Marketplace, a premium service that will offer original content to website publishers and allow content producers the ability to reach over 50 million uniques per month.

On February 13, 2006, VMIX introduced a new application allowing users to create their own musical slideshows. Through the Adobe FlashPlayer 8 technology, this new Web based, free media application called PJ60 was developed to facilitate the creation of slideshows. VMIX has always focused on providing the user with full creative control. As of May 16, 2006, VMIX members have uploaded 10,000 videos and photos from their mobile devices, setting a milestone in the consumer-focused Internet applications era.

On July 25, 2006, VMIX went public with their relationship with Fox Home Entertainment. Since then, Fox-controlled copyrighted content has been allowed in branded channels on the site, such as the Family Guy Channel. Greg Kostello, VMIX CEO, believes that the company's approach to protecting the intellectual property of both copyrighted and user-submitted content is a value proposition that has attracted advertisers.

VMIX secured $16.5 Million in venture funding in October 2007.
