[edit] Copyright
This is in response to your claims of some pages being copyrighted to Hollywood Records and Disney. As you know, all edits are released under the GFDL. Please make sure you read WP:Copyrights and that you understand you are essentially releasing the contents of any edits that you make. If you do not agree with this, please immediately remove any material that you have edited on Wikipedia. Thanks. --Yamla 02:21, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
I have taken off the "copyright notice", which now just says that Hollywood Records and Disney ask that all edits are made within reason. I do agree withe GFDL, for the record. However that does not mean that Hollywood Records and Disney do not give me rights to copy rights (just not on this site). Vmatikov
- It is reasonable to ask, but please be aware that no such request can be enforced. That is, edits that may not meet with the approval of Hollywood Records or Disney may still be made, so long as they are appropriate for Wikipedia. That's the nature of Wikipedia. Still, I find it unlikely that either company would have a problem with an encyclopedia article or, if they did, chances are that other editors would also have a problem. Thanks. --Yamla 04:11, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
Neccesarily, I think that they would have a problem with editors. I know this for a fact, people come and they put "top secret" information down that is extremely fals (however no one in the genral public actually knows), and that can cause issues. These types of free-content sites are the only real isuue to this topic (not that I don't like them). Otherwise, I think that we can drop this topic, however reference it. --vmatikov
- If Disney is going to have a problem with people editing the page in general then the page has no place on Wikipedia. However, you seem to be saying that Disney would only have a problem with people adding non-cited information to the page. If so, that's great. Wikipedia has a policy against that sort of thing already, and such information should be reverted.
- If on the other hand, Aly and AJ had a shocking sex scandal (obviously speaking hypothetically here), it would be completely legitimate to put information about that scandal on the wikipedia page. Again, if Disney (or you) has a problem with this, you are misunderstanding what rights you both have given up. Anyway, I don't think we have a conflict here. --Yamla 00:22, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
- First, I understand everything (its not like I wasn't being hypothetical). We have given up very clear rights, and that is a taken risk. Secondly, I am talking obout non-cited info (and yes, Disney has reason for being on this site). And thirdly, no system no matter how advanced, can detect false from truth in the given case. Only the people who truly know can understand. On the other hand, we know what is true and what is false about them, and if we don't, they (aly and AJ) do. But you get what I'm saying, right? People say very interesting things sometimes to get themselves personal and and/or public publicity. Personally, I think that not having copyrights has more advantages, as if this were to happen, hypothetically, that we could monitor this more carefully. --vmatikov Note: Use better examples, one(s) that match their ages, as on request by them, even though they were laughing at your example.
I made the comment above before I read your first comment ( The one following my comment, which had started with "Neccesarily"). Intersting. Somehow I forgot about that policy. --vmatikov
[edit] Image
Thank you for including copyright and source information for most of the images you have uploaded. You forgot to do this for Image:Aly&AJ.jpg, however. Could you please add source and copyright information to that image as well? Thanks. --Yamla 04:20, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
My only problem with doing this is that I am not responsible for the addition of the picture. If the user that added it (Rosepuff12), as cited on the picture page, supplies additional information about the picture is the only way that that will gain neccesary rights. I do not know know the history of that particular file, only that I may have taken (that angle, as it was take from 221 different ones; only two published, which were 0 and 1West degrees; I took 1West degree) of the picture.I have added a picture called Aly&AJ1WEST.jpg, which is its equvialent and supplies information. --vmatikov
- You are right. Sorry, I don't know how I missed that. Thanks. --Yamla 00:22, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Aly and AJ
One of your edit summaries for Aly and AJ reads:
- "(ONLY ALY is going to be in Dairy Girls, which is from my sources, Disney has not informed me much about the film, it a secret even for an employee)"
Who are your "sources"? Unless information is independently verifiable, it shouldn't be added to an article. tregoweth 03:55, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
My sources are the company I work for, The Walt Disney Company. However, they have not given me the details of this movie (or its decided name) yet. So, you may say that AJ might be starring in it as well. Also, AJ is not a Disney Channel actress. 24.9.231.93 02:25, 3 December 2005 (UTC) (I'm Vmatikov, I'm just not logged in! Sorry!)

Hi. You claim that this user is vandalising Wikipedia. What articles specifically do you believe the user is vandalising? I took a look at the contribs and the user only seems to have made a (debateable) grammatical correction to one article. Let me know which articles you are talking about and I'll look into it. Thanks! --Yamla 17:25, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Aly Michalka 23.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Aly Michalka 23.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 13:53, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:AJ-Photoshoot1.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:AJ-Photoshoot1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 03:42, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please E-Mail Me
Hello, I noticed you're contributions to the Aly & AJ page, and I'd like to chat with you about something, please either E-Mail me at jeremiah@mit.midco.net, or if you would prefer, Instant Message me at jsinkie@hotmail.com. I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Jay 00:45, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Employee
Hi. I know you've been getting frustrated recently about the images you've been uploading. If I remember correctly, you work for the Walt Disney Corporation. If so, you are probably a sufficient source to indicate that an image has been released for promotional purposes. However, we do need evidence that you are really employed by them. I am not sure how to go about doing this. One possibility is a scanned copy of your pay stub but you'd want to black out any information such as your address. Another would be a scanned letter on letterhead indicating that you are permitted to release images for promotional purposes to the Wikipedia (though Walt Disney Corp would still own copyright). Anyway, I have a few other ideas I'd be willing to discuss through email or here. Let me know. --Yamla 02:18, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- Despite the fact that I wish for Wikipedia to be the ultimate encyclopedia, I have other endeavours in business, I am most likely going to stop uploading images to Wikipedia. I once took a long break from doing it, and that was a very good time. So I have decided to stop my continous migranes and having to refrain from my job in order to contribute to Wikipedia and deal with imagery. 24.9.231.93 03:34, 5 August 2006 (UTC) (Vmatikov)
-
- In that case, can you please add the {{db-author}} tag to each of the disputed images you have uploaded? Thanks. --Yamla 15:01, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Aly Michalka 23.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Aly Michalka 23.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. User:Arual 12:05, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:1 Cmas4.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:1 Cmas4.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
What, have you understood nothing?
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:1 Cmas4.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:1 Cmas4.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Jusjih 14:09, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Relex Incorporated
If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Relex Incorporated, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, attribution, and autobiography.
For more details, please read the Conflict of Interest guideline. Thank you.
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Relex Incorporated, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- intgr 14:13, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:StCanard.jpg
Hello Vmatikov, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:StCanard.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Vmatikov/St. Canard. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 20:13, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BoxLinterEng.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:BoxLinterEng.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:51, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ADIC.png
Thanks for uploading Image:ADIC.png. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 18:12, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
