While the image is subject to copyright, I, Cubs Fan, feel it falls under U.S. fair use laws because:

it is a low resolution screenshot of a TV show, and is rendered in a lower resolution than the source material, so copies made from it will be of inferior quality.
the scene depicted is mentioned in the article, and the image is only being used to illustrate it.
use of the screenshot does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the show or DVD(s).
it is being used only for informational purposes. I am not looking to make any money by using it this way, nor has anyone asked me to do it for them.
it is being used to illustrate how the superstition has entered the public consciousness outside of a theatrical production.
