Vladimir Tributz

Vladimir Fillipovich Tributz (Russian: Владимир Филиппович Трибуц, July 28, 1900, Saint Petersburg - 1977) was a Soviet naval commander and admiral from 1943. Graduated in two naval academies. In 1926 - 1929 and in 1932 - 1936 he served on ships of the Baltic Fleet. In February 1938 - April 1939 the head of the Staff of the Baltic Fleet and in April 1939 - 1947 a commander of this Fleet. Retired in February of 1961. Awarded a two 1st class Orders of Ushakov, one Order of Nakhimov and several other medals. The Udaloy class destroyer- Admiral Tributs is named after him.
