Vladimir Mudri is a Catholic priest of Ukranian descent.
Mudri completed his secondary education at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Greek Catholic Seminary in Zagreb, Croatia. He studied for the priesthood at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome, Italy, where he received a BA in Philosophy in 1968; a Bachelor of Theology in 1970; and a Master of Theology in l972. In 1979 Father Vladimir returned to Rome to pursue his studies and obtained a Ph.D. in Oriental Canon Law (JCOD) at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in 1983.
He received minor orders in Zagreb. He was ordained to diaconate on July 12, 1972, and to the priesthood on August 27, 1972, both by the late Bishop Gabriel Bukatko in Yugoslavia. Father Vladimir spent his first two years in the priesthood in Yugoslavia, where he served as assistant pastor at St. Nicholas parish in Ruski Krstur.
In 1974 Father Vladimir moved to Canada, where his first pastoral assignment was at the parish of the Transfiguration of Our Lord in Preeceville, Saskatchewan. From 1975 to 1979 Father Vladimir served as pastor of the parish of the Dormition of the Mother of God (Sutherland), and as assistant pastor at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of St. George in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After returning from Rome in 1983, he returned to St. George’s Cathedral. The following year he was appointed pastor of All Saints Parish in North Battleford where he served from 1984 to 1992. Since 1992 he has been the pastor of Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of St. George in Saskatoon.
In addition to his parish duties and responsibilities, Father Vladimir has been an active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood of Canada since 1976, of the Presbyteral Council of the Eparchy since 1985, and of the Knights of Columbus since 1987. Positions held include Judicial Vicar for the Eparchy since 1984, Eparchial Consultor since 1986, Judge in the Regina Regional Marriage Tribunal since 1986, Chancellor of the Saskatoon Eparchy since 1988, and Archprotopresbyter since November 8, 1994.
