Vladimir "The Janitor" Matyushenko (born January 1, 1971 in Rečyca, Belarus) is a Belarusian mixed martial arts fighter and the current International Fight League light heavyweight champion. He is also a former heavyweight champion in the International Fighting Championships, and also winner of IFC's Battle on the Bayou 8 man tournament in 1997 and former UFC light heavyweight contender. He is currently a light heavyweight for the Tokyo Sabres of the International Fight League.

Matyushenko is an accomplished freestyle wrestling athlete and utilized his wrestling background extensively in his fights. He became a two-time National Junior College champion at Lassen College, before moving on to the University of Nevada, graduating with a degree in Health Science in 1999.

His notable wins include Pedro Rizzo, Yuki Kondo, Vernon White, and an impressive dominating performance over Brazilian standout Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

Matyushenko defeated Alex Schoenauer by unanimous decision to become the first ever light heavyweight champion in the IFL.

Most recently, Matyushenko successfully defended his title against Jamal Patterson winning by TKO in the second round. [1]

Vladimir has a son named Roman.[2]

Vladimir is currently living in El Segundo, California where he has recently opened a brand new training center called "VMAT" for all to come and learn the arts.
