Vladimir Kaplan (born January 11, 1925; died September, 2000) was a noted player of pool checkers from Russia. His wife worked as an accountant on Wall Street to support this. He apparently had some difficulties in international competitions because he was Jewish.[1] He immigrated to the United States and by 1983 played for that nation in competitions.[2] He also wrote several books on the game.[3]
