Vladimir (Romanian: Comuna Vladimiru) is a commune in Gorj County, Romania, with a population of 3,481. The commune is divided into four villages: Vladimir (974 inhabitants), Andreeşti (1,171), Frasinu (822) and Valea Desului (514). Tudor Vladimirescu, the Romanian revolutionary hero and the leader of the Wallachian uprising of 1821 was born in the Vladimir village and the house where he was born is now a museum.
