Vladas Drėma

Vladas Drėma (1910-1995) was one of the most prominent Lithuanian art historic, critic and artist. One of the most remembered publications of Vladas Drėma's is Dingęs Vilnius (1991).

Vladas Drėma was born in Riga, 1910. After finishing Vilnius University, he continued his studies in Warsaw. From 1932 lectured in various schools. In 1945 he received an invitation to occupy Ethnography museum's director position, Drėma held this position until 1946. Till 1948 Vladas Drėma lectured in Vilnius university, till 1970 in Lithuanian art institute. In 1992 Vladas Drėma was bestowed with honorary degree of Vilnius Art Academy. Drėma died in 1995.
