VKernel Corp. was founded by Mr. Alex Bakman in early 2007. Alex is a successful serial entrepreneur who holds numerous domestic and international patents. Alex founded Ecora Software in 1999, an industry leader in cost-effective change and configuration reporting software. Prior to Ecora, Alex founded Cleversoft in 1994, a leader in Lotus Notes monitoring solutions. Cleversoft was subsequently acquired by Candle Corporation. Alex's companies have all specialized in producing enhanced systems management reporting solutions that in spite of their underlying sophistication are rooted in simplicity.

VKernel develops easy-to-use and quick-to-deploy virtual appliances for managing virtual server environments that quickly solve real world systems management challenges as organizations migrate to VMware virtual environments. Virtual appliances are pre-built, pre-configured, ready-to-run enterprise applications packaged with an operating system inside a virtual machine. VKernel Virtual Appliances enable IT groups to immediately solve critical pain points related to cost visibility, chargeback, and capacity bottlenecks by providing detailed insight into the capacity and resource consumption of each virtual machine.

VKernel is headquartered in Portsmouth, NH, USA. VKernal has taken venture funding from Polaris Venture Partners and venture capital firm Hummer Winblad Venture Partners.
