[edit] Blanking of Beck row base housing
Hey Vivio,
I noticed that you reverted the blanking of this article by the original author and then warned them on their talk page. While I know you were just doing vandalism patrol and appreciate that, I just wanted to remind you that blanking of new pages by their authors is also seen as a request for deletion per criteria G7. As such, I've restored the blank version and tagged it for speedy deletion, noting what happened in my edit summary.
Anyways, just thought I'd give you a heads-up! For some reason, I've run into this phenomenon twice in the past two days.... --jonny-mt 10:23, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Coaching offer
Hello, I am one of the coaches at Wikipedia:Admin coaching. Seeing as you have a standing request for future admin coaching, I would be interested in coaching you in this regard. As an administrator, I concentrate largely upon anti-vandal work through WP:AIV and clearing the backlogs at CAT:CSD. In terms of editing, my primary contributions fall under the purview of WP:ANIME and WP:VG; feel free to peruse my userboxes and accomplishments for more information. If you wish to be coached by another editor, I certainly understand - it is your decision and prerogative. Best wishes, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 08:47, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- You agree to me being your coach and I basically give you tips, recommendations, and related items until your RfA. Think of it as a mentorship or being adopted. For me, I tend to have a hands-off approach to coaching, and I'll give you broad guidelines to follow as you see fit. As it stands, you're looking pretty good, but I'll give a full review if you accept me as your coach. Cheers, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 05:10, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks. I'm a bit busy right now, but I will get us started in terms of what you should be doing. Your last RfA, despite how the numbers add up, was actually very favorable towards you - practically all the opposes implied or stated outright that they were impressed by the improvement between your previous RfA and the present one. However, given significant precedence in the matter, opposes were necessary as it had only been one month since your previous RfA. I would say at least three months would be a comfortable margin between that RfA and your next one, so we'll aim for May. Certainly, if I feel you're ready in mid-April, or if you feel you're ready, then you can go forward, but I think at least two months need to be put between any RfAs.
- As for your edits, your vandalism work is very impressive, and the occasional CSD work is good as well. Both are essential administrator activities I would highly recommend you continue, largely in the same manner. A significant activity you can start looking at is commenting in more AfDs though. AfDs showcase three things: your ability to show your knowledge of policy, your ability to interpret and apply policy, and your ability to interact with other editors in a calm and civil manner. As we share the same interests in anime, WP:ANIME/D is a nice place to look for AfDs more in line with your interests, or feel free to peruse WP:AFD for AfDs to comment in. That said, don't feel rushed or pushed into commenting. Do it at your leisure, and only comment when you feel comfortable in your opinion. There's no minimum total of AfDs you need to comment in, and a single AfD can show a more comprehensive knowledge of policy than several hastily placed comments (i.e. "per nom/above" - rule of thumb, never use it. It shows laziness and an inability to apply policy. Placing an opinion backed policy, even if it's already been said, is better).
- On the subject of articles, my biggest recommendation towards your present activity is simply to contribute to articles. You don't have to produce GAs, FLs, or FAs by the dozen (my other "coachee," User:Gary King, took this path up with great gusto), or make major edits all the time, but contributing regularly to articles is one of the best ways to show your ability to apply policy and guidelines in the editing of an article. Your specific interests (judging from your edit count appears to be in the anime Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. As you can see from my main accomplishments, I have a lot of experience with anime episode lists and related characters, and I can help you in this regard. I realize that you said in your most recent RfA that you don't have time for "extensive research," but you don't need to invest the amount of time and energy needed for say a featured article here. Getting say List of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha episodes to featured list status is definitely a plausible target you can place for yourself in the upcoming months to your RfA. As for the rest of the Nanoha articles, the character articles could definitely be cleaned up, and I think a bit of merging and cleanup is necessary for the whole bunch. Naturally, there's no need for you to feel obligated to tackle this immediately - doing things at the pace you're comfortable with is best. The thing you're shooting here is that article contributions round out your portfolio - they offer another dimension to your work here, and an item of featured status would definitely help (by all means, however, it is not required).
- Anyhow, feel free to execute my recommendations as you see fit. I am open to all comments, questions, concerns, and whatnot. Best of luck, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 06:00, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

- Just on a comparison of a RfA of an editor relatively similar to you (see Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/DeadEyeArrow), the candidate definitely was an avid and thorough vandalism fighter, but offered little article contributions to show, which each of the seven opposes is addressing. His RfA will probably pass nevertheless, but the comparison is apt. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 07:13, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Character merging
Hello. As part of the article involvement I talked about above, I noted that several characters related to the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series needed cleanup and merging. I've started a discussion here concerning this, and would like your input and participation in the process. Cheers, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 20:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks for catching this. I was under the impression that this template was deprecated and had fallen into disuse, but apparently it was never removed from the license selector. In any case, it's gone now. —Remember the dot (talk) 07:24, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image in Deery Lou
Hi, I see that you're a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use and that you're interested in manga. So I have a question about the use of a copyrighted image, Image:DeeryLou.jpg. The image is used in Deery Lou. But I'm going to merge Sanrio characters failing WP:FICT in List of Sanrio characters. I'm not an expert in fair use, do you think that the image can be merged in the list too, or that it should be deleted ? Thanks, CenariumTalk 22:51, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- As long as it passes WP:NFCC in probably will be ok to merge it along with article contents. Vivio TestarossaTalk Who 03:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:TODAY_COULD_BE_A_DAY_OF_HISTORICAL_IMPORTANCE_1.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:TODAY_COULD_BE_A_DAY_OF_HISTORICAL_IMPORTANCE_1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Kelly hi! 07:34, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summaries and stuff
Just as a note, try to keep your edit summary usage as close to 100% as possible. Reviewers at RfA typically want to see edit summary usage as high as possible. Oh, and I was curious if you had any topical interest outside of Nanoha that you would be willing to edit in. It's easier to ease yourself into a little bit of article writing if there's more participants there. Cheers, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 08:56, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A bit of article work
I realize my presence as a coach for you has been a bit spotty, and I do apologize for that (IRL stuff). In any case, I'll evaluate your current RfA answers. Do realize that when you feel you're ready for another RfA (do wait another month or so to fulfill the obligatory distance between then and your last RfA), I'll nominate you, which provides another dimension to your nomination, especially when it's another administrator that's nominating you. Anyhow, the evaluation:
- Not bad. You're straying a bit off-topic with your statement concerning your conduct, which is more for supplementary questions. Simply say you will concentrate at CAT:CSD, WP:AIV, and WP:RFP, and that due to your previous experience in these areas, these are the administrative tasks you will feel most comfortable doing.
- Seems a little sparse. In the month between now and your next RfA, you could bring up say List of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha episodes to featured list status. It's not that difficult. There's over twenty or so similar featured episode lists (the grand majority of which I either created or was the primary worker one) and following this model and with my help, you could easily get the aforementioned article to featured list status by the time your new RfA rolls around.
- The biggest thing here is that you want to emphasize how you dealt with them in a civil fashion (provide specific examples if possible), and how you will continue to do so in the future.
If time permits, I'll give you some commonly asked questions seen in RfAs and evaluate your answers to them. Your anti-vandalism and CSD work has been very good as usual though. My big recommendation is to work on that episode list to round out your answer to question two and deter any naysayers that would point to a lack of article contributions. If you have any questions on how to start on such an episode list, I am more than willing to help you. Cheers, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 02:59, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New Pages
Hello. I noticed today that you were doing newpages patrolling but are not marking some of the pages you visit as patrolled. Though this is not mandatory in any way, and should not be done for all newpages, where appropriate it keeps your fellow patrollers from wasting time reviewing the same page multiple times. In any event, keep up the good work! Thanks. BigDunc (talk) 19:54, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Naved Ahmed
A tag has been placed on Naved Ahmed requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. X Marks The Spot (talk) 06:19, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 2014 FIFA World Cup
Hi, Vivio
In many web sites about the FIFA World Cups like this1 in the general points said that the preliminaroes draw for the qualifications to the World Cup is celebrated three years before. For example according this web site:
1970 1968 1974 1971 1978 1975 1982 1979 1986 1983 1990 1987 1994 1991 1998 1995 2002 1999 2006 2001 2010 2007Bicko2008 (talk) 03:23, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
In Italics the year of the preliminary draw. The year of the preliminary draw ,following this sequence at least FIFA´s decide to change will be efectuate in 2011, a year after 2010 FIFA World Cup. Bicko2008 (talk) 03:23, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Bicko2008Bicko2008 (talk) 03:23, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Admin coaching withdrawal
Due to time constraints as of late, I've been unable to perform a lot of the things I would normally do on Wikipedia (resulting in a rather low 436 edits for me last month, the lowest I've had in a year), admin coaching one of them. As of now, I'm ending my coaching with you so you can pursue a coach who frankly has a more open schedule (mine will open eventually, but you should be free to pursue one for advice as you see fit). That said, I am always open for advice, questions, aid, concerns, and other matters, and the initial long review I gave you still stands. Best of luck. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 07:20, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
