Vitaly Dubinin

Vitaly Alexeyevich Dubinin (Russian: Виталий Дубинин) is the bass guitarist of the Russian heavy metal band Aria. He is informally known as "Dub" (Oak, a shortcut of his surname).
Vitaly was born in October 9, 1958, in Vnukovo, near Moscow, USSR. He graduated Moscow Power Engineering Institute and formed a band "Magic Twilight" (Volshebnie Sumerki) togeher with his institute mate Vladimir Holstinin. The band played mostly cover versions of foreign bands songs, such as Deep Purple and Rainbow. Arthur Berkut was band's vocalist, and "Magic Twilight" is often considered to be a prototype to Aria.
Magic Twilight was disbanded in 1983. Dubinin tried to change his music profession and become a vocalist, he graduated Gnessin State Musical College. But soon Vitaly found himself jobless. Holstinin invited him in 1987 to join Aria as bassist.
Vitaly is main composer of Aria, many of his songs, including Schtiel, became widely known. He keeps singing as backing vocalist of Aria.
