Vita is a city and a municipal council in Sangli district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

As of 2001 India census[1], Vita had a population of 41,797. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Vita has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 66%. In Vita, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.poultry and grape agriculture is the primary work of the inhabitants. Mr. Vaibhav Patil is the president of this towns muncipal council. Sou. Shakuntala jadhav is one of the council member from ward no.2. Mr. Sadashivrao Patil hails from the same town and he is M.L.A.
