[edit] Image:LeBron James USA.jpg

Hello! You recently updated Image:LeBron James USA.jpg, which, if truly self-taken, could be a great boon to the LeBron James article as a free photo. Wikipedia image use policy requires that you tag every image you upload to assert it's copyright status, which you did not do for this image. Not to worry, I have retagged it as {{GFDL-presumed}}, and if you have taken this image and you are willing to release it into the GFDL, you can re-tag it again to full-fleged {{GFDL-self}}. Otherwise, if it comes from a seperate source the image needs source information and a proper copyright. Thanks! Staxringold 14:56, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

I am relatively new here, I don't know about the way it goes. I will make the change (yes, I have taken the photo myself). Should I put the original photo, since this is just a part of one much larger picture? Yours truly Vitriden 15:06, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick response and fix! It's so nice to see new editors making useful contributions (non-copyrighted images of celebrities aren't easy to come by). For example this image is a cropped version of this image, and because they are both free I've uploaded both in case anyone wants to do touch-ups that require the original. I think the image is fine as is, but uploading the full version and linking to it on the cropped version never hurts. Staxringold 17:37, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, done.

[edit] crvena zvezda/red star

Why did you change diacritics in the "Coaches" section of the Red Star article (removed "ć" from the surnames etc.)? There is not a single reason to that. Also, almost entire talk page is dedicated to the fact that some people think the name of the article should be "Red Star", while others support the name "Crvena Zvezda". And now you come and solve the problem immediately. That's simply the wrong way to do that. Also, your opinion is nobody's business here, so get back the info you've removed. If this is an encyclopedia, than it should be informative, whether you like the informations it gives, or not. Vitriden 12:46, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

It was a mistake, lost some diacritics when editing in notepad, fixed. Changed article it to follow conventions than every other international football club has, as well as the name that UEFA uses. Trying to be bold and improve the article that seems to need it. Why is my opinion worth less than yours? What information have I removed except the "cigani" nickname which is obviously not a commonly established nickname for the team.--Lowg 16:41, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
I have no reason to consider my opinion more valuable than yours. But there is one thing called consensus, which is one of the reasons Wikipedia actually exists. All the things you've changed have been talked about on the talk page, so please read it first, then say what you have and listen what others have to say on the issue, and then make the changes. This way, if only two persons have different opinions, there will be infinite reverting until the end of time. And we don't want that, do we?

BTW, you've done good job in the coaching history section, and I have the same opinion as you on most issues, but I know the others don't think the same way, so we have to compromise as much as we can. Vitriden 18:02, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok, so what do you suggest? Are you ok with the article is now? I'm not trying to force anything, I just felt by looking at article it was not the same level of quality and consistancy as other international football club articles. I would like to work together since it seems you might feel the same way --Lowg 20:03, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Now we're talking. I have tried to improve the article a little and we'll see if there are any complains (and there have always been some). Patience is everything. Oh, and I have moved entire Talk page from the Red Star article, since I think it belongs here. That's about that.

I think this should be OK Vitriden 11:10, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Javier Clemente

I have not completely removed edit. Moved most relevent info to opening para. Clemente has only recently taken charge of Serbia and with the greatest respect bar being appointed, there is not much else to report. Most of what you wrote was speculation about future events or referred to recent events about Serbia in World Cup which had nothing at all to do with Clemente. Most recent does not necessarily mean most important. Clemente has a long history as a La Liga manager and only a short history to date with Serbia. Hopefully from your POV there will be more to write about in future. Djln--Djln 23:43, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] athletic bilbao

See this section in the history of Atheletic Bilbao, it seems that from 1941 to ?1970? the team changed it's name to Atlético Bilbao... Not certain of this myself since the article is a little vague of the exact date, but I'm fine with your version though just to keep the article consistent. Just don't want to think I was still being sloppy, there was some thought put into this one ;) --Lowg 21:53, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Senta i Sonta

Radi kako ti volja.

[edit] Segundo Castillo

Seems Castillo was not signed but is on loan for 6 months. I too was sceptical at first since I didn't see it in the news, but just found an article that confirms it on JadranSport.// Lowg .talk. 01:09, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

I really don't care what will happen to the page, as long as there is a consensus (or something close to it). Okay, if you have the info that there are other domains considered for Montenegro, that's fine by me, but as far as I can see on CcTLD#ccTLDs not in ISO 3166-1, there is not a single example of the use of a domain other than the one listed as alpha-2 code for the country. It is a rule, as far as I can see. And since SP and ME are new codes for Serbia and Montenegro, respectively, the rule will be applied to them as well. I really can't see how can there be some discussion on the issue in Montenegro, when the rule is clear. Best of luck, --Vitriden 12:55, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Serbian surnames

Greetings. I went through this page and added diacritics, but since I don't know Serbian, much of what I did was really an educated guess. Would you mind checking and correcting my work? Thank you very much. Biruitorul 20:28, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Asen Nikolov

It's OK to cite a published source eve if it's not available on the web. You can use the {{cite news}} template.

By the way, I don't know what Partizan were thinking when buying that guy, he's never been a star player of any kind in Bulgaria and he was totally forgotten when he went to play in Azerbaijan :) Ješić must have had an absolutely distorted notion of his abilities... it's no surprise Nikolov is disappointing.

But that's just a personal opinion anyway :) TodorBozhinov 18:41, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

I see about the paper — providing a web link would've been great, but printed is still OK (if you can remember the issue and the title of the article :))
As I looks, Nikolov is really disappointing, but I have to say I wasn't expecting anything else when Partizan bought him. I was actually thinking "What the hell are these guys doing" :) Dunno about Blago, I've never been a great fan of his and I haven't seen him in many matches, but I tend to believe he's had at least some decent performances with Slavia.
As for Bulgarian players in Serbia, it's only a recent trend and Serbian managers should watch Bulgarian footballers more closely before buying: many players here are downright overestimated or rest on their laurels. There's a number of footballers in leading teams of our championship who'd be glad to wear the jersey of Zvezda or Partizan.
Players from all over the Balkans (excluding Greece and Turkey) are traditionally well represented in terms of quantity in Bulgaria and there's a lot of Serbs too, which is good, because you have great football academies and a lot of talented players.
The stars of our national team play in leading European clubs and domestic teams often have to compensate with foreigners. Though I'm happy to say they've began to rely more on the academies in recent years and this has had a good effect. TodorBozhinov 12:51, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] hello

Long time no chat :)

Have you heard anything about the deal between Црвена звезда and Real Madrid? I've recently read an article about it on JadranSport, perhaps we should add this into both articles? Just not sure where it would fit.

Also, would you happen to know anything about Talk:KFK Radnički Kragujevac? // Laughing Man 05:26, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Regarding that list, I saw your comments on the talk page but just recently remembered to respond! I figured just to go ahead and make the changes, glad you think it's ok. Interesting regarding the Zvezda news, maybe best to wait and see about the news to see really the significance to the deal, I was thinking maybe you might have read something in the Serbian press/news about it which is why I asked before adding it. :)
I also went ahead and moved the article to FK Radnički Kragujevac as it did seem to make more sense (found some mentions on UEFA.com with this version of the name), but unfortunately the user who created the article was banned by an overzealous admin and I don't think he's returned since then. // Laughing Man 22:21, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

What origin is the Divac surname? According to your comment on Serbian surnames you said he wasn't Serb.

It woulkd be a good guess that it is Serbian. Any proof??

The name doesn't sound Slavic, but i could be wrong. For all i know it could some very old Serbian name dating back a thousand years.

Hello. I was just wondering if the Svetlana Ražnatović article was still on your watchlist. I am attempting to make edits that ensure the article complies with the requirements of Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and there has also been some vandalism of the article by a frustrated editor. [edit] too nice? ;)

Hi Vitriden,

Sometimes, you are too polite ;) Actually, I respect you for that, if everyone acted as you did, Wikipedia would be a much better place. So far, it seems you are the really the only current active knowledgeable editor of the Crvena zvezda article, so I think you should simply make changes as you think is best, and mention on article talk page. If these recent anons who are editing really wish to improve the article, and not just make some sort of point, they will join the discussion you started on the talk page, otherwise, I will try to help maintain the consensus version from discussion. // laughing man 14:02, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] West Germany

Hi. You posted to Matthead's discussion page on the subject of his changing all known references to West Germany to read Germany, as of the unified variety. You then said you do not understand him.

Have you heard of re-invention of history by those who would wish that the past had never happened in the way it did? I would suggest that this is the area of the editor's psyche you might need to examine, if only it were possible to do so. He's making a lot of work for those who are clear on the past and how it shaped up, by requiring reversions of his misguided edits for a large number of football articles.

There must be a more constructive and enjoyable way of editing, I would have thought. Best wishes. Ref (chew)(do) 21:25, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] advisors list

I did it because of the Wikipedia style guideline which suggests cleanup of articles where the list format is used instead of prose text. Simple as that. If we ever get separate articles on his advisors then a list of child articles links with only short explanation in the first article (Boris Tadic article) would be possible but for now this is the best option. --Avala 23:27, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notable players

Hi Vitriden I have seen that you have reverted my edit. There is a difference between notable players and notable former players. Burzanović, Castillo and Gueye are alredy notable players in the squad. I didn't put there Barcos or Bronowicki (although he is a member of Poland national football team) and also Jestrović (notable at Anderleht) or Koroman. Making differencies between players from Serbia and Yugoslavia isn't so practical, but I didn't have beter idea how to do that (maybe you have). In this case I think that your revert wasn't right.Zrenjanin (talk) 10:38, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh yeah Milovanovic an Basta are also notable players, not former but notable.Zrenjanin (talk) 10:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
OK, we can agree to add just former players (notable) on the list. But also we must put flags beside players name or to write down country above player names. It is unusual that Mao Molina is in the middle of the list among all Serbian/Yugoslav footballers. Someone would think (not watching article about him) that he is born Serbian of etc. spanish descent :). Zrenjanin (talk) 17:38, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
OK, I hope that we will have a good cooperation on Red Star article. Cheers. Zrenjanin (talk) 17:53, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
