[edit] Attack of the Graske and Mission to the unknown

(my talk page) "Alright I'll stop adding the video games but at least keep Attack of the Graske and Mission to the Unknown VitasV 1/9/07 —Preceding unsigned comment added by VitasV (talkcontribs) 23:49, 31 August 2007 (UTC) "

I'm not asking to remove "Mission to the Unknown", I'm asking wheter the section that it is listed in should be changed on the (extremely) minor point that it doesn't contain the doctor.
As for Attack of the Graske, I asked on the talk page if there was a reason for it's removal, and was told that it was counted as a game (which I can understand as sit has two possible endings), so I kept it out. Ask (politelty) on the talk page, and see what people think.

[edit] List of Doctor Who serials

The material on the 2009 specials etc is already in the above article. As I've point out to two separate IPs ([1], [2]), which I'm going to guess may well be yours, there is no need to duplicate that material. Thank you. --Mark H Wilkinson (t, c) 09:59, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page

"*If you are looking for information on Doctor Who. I recommend that you don't use the Doctor Who story chronology page due to so many people doing unessesary edits and for some reason they wont include alot of Doctor Who stories due to bizzare and idiotic reasons."

I draw your attention to this page here

and if you tell us (ploitely) on the talk page what we are missing, then it may be added.

StuartDD ( tc ) 16:54, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I also draw your attention to WP:CIVIL and WP:DR StuartDD ( tc ) 18:49, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I still stand by what I say unless you find a way to improve it and that is to add the stuff that is meant to be in there. VitasV 14/9/07

Once again, a demonsrtration of your belief that only you can have the correct opinion
Well let's take a look at what is not being included and why:

"The video games are missing, the comics are missing and a (f)ew others."(User Page)

video games

The fact is, that no official source inlcudes them as canon (with the exception of Attack of the Graske, see above section for that), let alone part of the same chronology. There is also the fact the "story" can be played in different ways
I followed a link to the Mines of Terror Game, where you would "regenerate" if you died.
Clearly, the number of "regenerations" that happen (if any) depends on the player's actions
There is also the obvious issue, that after "regenerating", it is the same Doctor - whcih clearly cannot be considered to be part of the same story as the main series.
So, no include

The comics

Well, I couldn't see a reason for NOT including them, so I started that section on The talk page. The definitie "no include" statements state that it is almost impossible to reconsile them with canon (I haven't read the comics, so I don't know). If that's correct, then I think it's a good reason not to include them.
If a "story" doesn't fit into the same basic story-line (such as the companions being different) of the series, then how can it be part of the same chronology?
There is also the fact (which has also been pointed out) that there is no attempt to bring them into canon by the Books or Audios
I am aware that they are included by official sources (As I stated on the talk page), but notice that the two definative "don't include" statements were added afterwards
So, no include

A (f)ew others

Examples?, When changing from the book/Audio format to the current one, I went through the lists on wiki to check that they were all included. I didn't include the ones yet tot be released (as I couldn't find a source for their placements), but other than that I think I got them all.
So give some examples and they may be included.

StuartDD ( tc ) 09:43, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

I still stand by what I say. VitasV 16/9/07

Well, I've explained the reasons given for not inlcuding the material. If, after that, you still hold your belief that only your opinion is correct, then I can't help you. StuartDD ( tc ) 14:17, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Signing comments

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --Mark H Wilkinson (t, c) 04:59, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Just a note on this. Technically, your signature does give the date in the "day/month/year" format. The reason for the "unsigned" templates is that you should also put the time of the post. Wikipedia:Signatures gives information on how to automatically generate the time. StuartDD ( tc ) 10:46, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:VitasV: List of Mario universe games

Regarding the above page, I draw your attention to Wikipedia:Ownership of articles. StuartDD ( tc ) 09:56, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

I have moved the page to User:VitasV/List of Mario universe games (subpages are separated by the slash / not the colon :). About the above: Others may also edit your page but it would not be polite to do so. Happy editing, Kusma (talk) 12:31, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes, now it's officially a sub page of yours, Wikipedia:Ownership of articles is not relevant. StuartDD ( tc ) 12:38, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Frostfire

in regard to this:
Please stop placing Frostfire between The Time Meddler and The Empire of Glass. I'm not sure if you've listened to the audio but the story takes place between The Myth Makers and The Dalek's Master Plan. The story Vicki tells to Cinder is what happened during between The Time Meddler and The Empire of Glass, not what is happening there right now. If you don't agree with what I say then I suggest you listen to it again or buy it if you don't have it.

Do you mean that the placement between "The Time Meddler" and "The Empire of Glass" is a flashback? StuartDD contributions 10:24, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. I spotted the flashback for Fear of the Daleks when I was finding the references, but I must have missed the flashback here. StuartDD contributions 08:08, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dr. Who video games

Okay, for the moment, forget the comics, forget the rest of the issues. This is just about the video games. They have no place in Dr. Who chronology because their own stories do not establish themselves as his history. (1) Those can be played using different versions of the Doctor immediately remove themselves from chronology because they have no definite chronology. (2) Internally, each game has a variety of steps because different players, even if they never get a game over, will play it in different ways. (3) Some have multiple outcomes and therefore no definite continuity in the Doctor's history. (4) Even when a game has only one ultimate ending, it still has thousands of possible endings in terms of the different ways it can result in game over. Items (1) and (3) are absolute problems, but items (2) and (4) matter too. Wryspy 08:25, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: "But they are still part of the Doctor Who chronology, you can't deny that."
How? Yes, I can deny it. They cannot possibly fit chronologically because they have no definite story. Have you noticed that you are the only person in these discussions who doesn't get that? Seriously. Wryspy 07:55, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notice

Dear VitasV

Thanks for your input here - although regrettably, both I (Wiggstar69) and Stuart DD feel you do not take into acount any other opinion then your own and seem quite agressive in your approach when talking to other users; see

a trend which you are continuing both here and here".

You have even started attacking other users 1,2

I hope we can come to an agreement, before you find yourself being reported.--Wiggstar69 09:34, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

You can easily say you havn't verbaly attact anybody although if you follow the links on the above message you can see the two examples chosen because you do exactly that.--Wiggstar69 12:59, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
I quote from your user page "If you are looking for information on Doctor Who. I recommend that you don't use the Doctor Who story chronology page due to so many people doing unessesary edits and for some reason they wont include alot of Doctor Who stories due to bizzare and idiotic reasons. The video games are missing, the comics are missing and a few others."
It seems that because the page is not to your taste there is reason to attack those who think the page perfect.

To be perfectly honest I belive the page would be a lot better if you aloud other users to edit it in the way most of them seem fit, although you have made sevrel edits undoing other peoples work just because you don't like it, you have to realise that just because you made the page does not make you in charge of it and does not mean other people are 'messing it up'. I have now made 17 pages none of which I dictate over. As far as I can see this conversation has no reason to go on much longer, as long as you stick to the wikipedia guidelines in the future it should be fine.--Wiggstar69 15:45, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Thats absolutly fine, as long as if somone explains to you what they are doing, and why they want to do what they are doing, you listen to what they have to say then there is no problem.--Wiggstar69 14:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please use more caution while editing

VitasV, please try to use more caution while editing. Twice now, in your haste to remove text you disagreed with at List of Doctor Who serials, you have removed an important reference that other text relied on. As you know from previous warnings, this just creates more work for other editors. Thank you for addressing this matter promptly. --Ckatzchatspy 08:39, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pokémon Red & Blue

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that recently you carried out a copy and paste page move. Please do not move articles by copying and pasting them because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. -- ReyBrujo 15:17, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Germany Invitation

Hello, VitasV! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.
