Visnes, Rogaland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Visnes is a small place in the county of Rogaland on the west coast of Norway, on the island of Karmøy. It is very close to Haugesund. It was in Visnes that the copper vein that provided material for the Statue of Liberty was found. The copper mine, which closed in 1972, has its own museum.[1]
