[edit] Synopsis

Inspector Prabhat Singh (Sunny Deol) has been assigned the task of apprehending an elusive criminal don named Azghar Jurhad (Amrish Puri). Azghar's whereabouts are unknown in India, but after an investigation, he is traced to the African country of Kenya. Prabhat, accompanied by Akash Bhardwaj (Chunky Pandey), who is the only person who can identify Azghar, go to Kenya. Once in Kenya they are met with the Kenyan Police Inspector of Indian-origin named Surya Pratap Singh (Naseeruddin Shah). It is Surya's duty to ensure that Prabhat and Akash play by the Kenyan rules, and not break the law. But after a confrontation with Azghar and his men, Prabhat and Akash decide not to play by the rules, thus bringing them in confrontation with the Kenyan police, and Surya himself.

  • This film marked the Hindi film debut of the late actress Divya Bharti and Jyotsna Singh who did not appear in any other films after this.
  • One of the film's songs Saat Samundar, shot in Kenya's Bubbles disco, was very popular at the time of the film's release and is also picturized on Divya Bharti which helped get her noticed in the Bollywood industry.
  • Director Rajiv Rai originally wanted the Tridev team of Sunny Deol, Naseeruddin Shah and Jackie Shroff to return for this film. Sunny and Naseeruddin agreed to be part of the film but Jackie Shroff had date problems and Chunky Pandey replaced him.
