Description The medal is a disc with an embossed border. The Mactan monument in gold relief occupies the center of the disc. At the dexter and in sinister flanks and center base, a phrase "VISAYAN CAMPAIGN" is embossed in arc pattern.

The Mactan monument stands for Visayan Island where the campaign took place. The stars depict the three (3) big island groups of the Philippines.

The service ribbon is pure red.

Service Ribbon

This medal is awarded to military personnel by the Chief of Staff, AFP, Commanders of Major Services and other units authorized to grant awards.

The award is given to a deserving personnel who participated in anti-smuggling/piracy and maritime law enforcement operations in the Visayas and the waters adjacent thereto for at least six months, from 8 November 1948; and for his service and participation in law enforcement, military and civic action operations in the islands comprising Visayas for at least six months, from 4 July 1946.
