[edit] Usage

This template is to be used per the instructions at Portal:Visual arts/Selected article.

  • Image is the image link, typically in the form of xyz.jpg.
  • Size is desired size of the image. If left blank, defaults to 125px, which is a good starting point. Note that the desired size can vary widely depending on the vertical/horizontal dimensions of the picture. Care should be given to not have the image overwhelm or underwhelm the portal page.
  • Caption is a brief informational blurb, no more than a few words (title and artist) that goes with the image. It is not the displayed text, which is under text.
  • Text is the main body of the article. Present the notability of the subject, as highlighted in the main entry. If space allows, an interesting fact or two from the entry can also be appropriate. Make the reader want to click through to the main entry. Simply cutting and pasting the first paragraph or two from the entry can work, but is not also the best solution.
  • Link is the wikilink to the main entry, so the reader can follow through and read more.
