Coordinates: 36.85° N 76.01° W Virginia Beach Friends School (VBFS) is a co-educational, independent life-skills and college preparatory day school founded in 1955 under the care of the Virginia Beach Friends Meeting. Virginia Beach Friends School has more than 200 students enrolled in 4 divisions – Early School (Cottage, Treehouse, Pre-K and Kindergarten), Lower School (Grades 1-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and Upper School (Grades 9-12).

Virginia Beach Friends School continues a 350-year tradition of Quaker education for students from Early School to Upper School in an environment that recognizes the individual worth of each student. We emphasize the Quaker values of Equality, Community, Simplicity and Harmony in a nurturing academic environment. At Virginia Beach Friends School, we strive to unify social, emotional, physical and spiritual development with academic excellence and creative expression in an atmosphere that encourages fulfillment of each students’ potential, based upon the Quaker belief that there is that of God in every person.
