Virgilio González

Virgilio R. Gonzalez was a contract CIA operative and one of the five men recruited by E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy in 1972 for a break-in at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in the Watergate building in Washington, D.C. Gonzalez was arrested in the Watergate building on June 17, 1972 along with Frank Sturgis, Eugenio Martinez, Bernard Barker and James McCord and convicted in the ensuing Watergate scandal. They were known thereafter as "The Plumbers". Earlier, he had worked in Operation 40 and the Bay of Pigs invasion. He was released on parole after serving only 4 months of a one-to-four year sentence.
