Virgilio Fossati

Virgilio Fossati (born on September 12, 1889 in Milan; died 1918) is a former Italian footballer. He played 97 times for Internazionale and scored 4 goals for the club. Fossati was the first Captain of Inter and also the first Inter player to play with Italian national team.
Fossati's career was ended by World War I. He died in 1918 during a battle of World War I between the Italian and Austrian armies.
His brother Giuseppe (born in Milan, 1894) played 43 matches in 3 years with Internazionale.
