Virendra Kumar Sharma (born 1947) is a British Labour Party politician and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ealing Southall. He was elected as MP in the Ealing Southall by-election, held on 19 July 2007. The by-election was called following the death of the sitting Labour MP, Piara Khabra on 19 June 2007. [1] Sharma is a loyal Labour MP, who has never voted against the government in Parliament.[1].
Sharma was born in India and educated at the London School of Economics.[2] Prior to his election as an MP, Sharma had been a councillor for 25 years and had been elected Mayor of Ealing during these 25 years.[2]. Virendra Sharma is currently also a local councillor for the Norwood Green ward.
