[edit] YMCA?

The chorus to this song sounds a lot like the chorus to 'YMCA' by Village People - 'Vi-rus Alert!' has the exact same rhythm as 'Y-MCA', (which is part of the chorus). And the melody is similar in that phase. Just wondering. Nish81 21:55, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

wow your right! but what about the rest of the song. dont think so... anyway its "officially" a Style Parody of Styx and/or Rush. i guess on here it says "sparks" was the style parody-ee, but whatever --Joooeeeelllll 06:04, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Because it is. --Maxamegalon2000 16:28, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Queen

I added that the song is also in the parody style of the English progressive rock band, Queen, as anyone who has listened to that band will testify that Virus Alert is an homage to that band as well.

And I removed it, since anyone who has listened to The Sparks will recognize the inspiration behind everything in this song; it's "Hasta Manana Monsieur" with a little bit from "Hospitality on Parade" and the intro from "Never turn your back on mother earth". Queen? No. (Of course, both are pompous glam rock bands, so there is some similarity, but that's where it ends.) Juryen 03:02, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
What about German synth artist Peter Schilling, then? I've noticed several similarities between this song and many of his songs. Green Lantern

David Dobbins certainly did a good job on the video, the sequencing is perfectly synchronized with the song.

David Dobbins, whoever that is, did NOT make the video for this song. It was done by David C. Lovelace, creator of series such as Retarded Animal Babies. I'm removing this show of ignorance. 24.31.111.166 04:40, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Revisions?

I don't think that we should include the virus's consequensus' in this article. It's not a big name song. If it was i'd keep it. But it's not, so we shouldn't. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Randoman412 (talkcontribs) 00:21, 3 May 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Newgrounds?

In the music video, right after he says: "..And leave a bunch of Twinkie wrappers all over the place..." there is a split-second before the man in the rooms' computer explodes. His computer shows the Newgrounds logo. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thr33v3 (talkcontribs) 23:48, August 21, 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Music video

Probably not worth putting on the main page, here are a few other sections of the video worth looking out for: The AlMail screen has the following links on the left hand side: Inbox, Outbox, Matchbox, Draughts, ALMail, Spamwich, Crash. The top has Compose Mail, Send, Delete, Ham Salad. You could fill an essay with the parodies in that alone! Elsewhere, George Bush also makes a cameo appearance...
