I'm trying to find definite evidence of how US 460 went in Suffolk before it was moved to US 58. 04-1934-01 page 4 implies that it used Pinner Street - but then what was on Washington Street? US 13 used US 58 right to Route 32 until 1958. --NE2 14:15, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

I've found the following references to a 337 Alternate in the CTB meeting archives:
- 04-1947-01 page 9: assigned South Norfolk-Norfolk alternate
- 02-1951-01 page 35: temporary numbers 58-A and 337-A assigned for new Berkeley Bridge, pending completion of new Norfolk traffic study
- 02-1951-01 page 54: "58A & 337A - City of Norfolk - Norfolk & Berkley Approaches to the Bridge - Tunnel Project"
- 04-1951-01 page 10: Liberty and State from S Main to Elm Place is 337-A, City Hall and Holt from Bank to Lovett is 58-A
- 04-1951-01 page 40: "58A & 337A - City of Norfolk - Norfolk & Berkley Approaches to the Bridge - Tunnel Project"
- 05-1953-01 page 15: old Norfolk alternate removed and new one (entirely along US 460) formed
- 03-1968-01 page 14: 58A in Portsmouth became 337A

I found when 337 from Alexander's Corner (the west end of 337A in Portsmouth) east to 27 (now 166) in South Norfolk was added to the state highway system. 05-1933-01 page 9 and 08-1933-01 page 16 lists it as part of the 2½% mileage. Of course it was US 460 at first. Searching for Alexander gives a few more possibly useful matches. Also note 10-1931-01 page 20 - the State Highway Commission built Route 12 (now US 58 - Airline Boulevard) in Portsmouth all the way to High Street. --NE2 22:14, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
